Panchayat Ghar cum Talati Aawas

At present in state there are approximately 13819 gram panchayats. Gram panchayats are the base of Panchayati Raj System. In list of work given to panchayats farming, animal rearing education cleanliness, general construction, social welfare, Narmada canal, Gokul Village scheme etc. related activities are included. Along with common powers Gram Panchayat is also delegated work of collecting land revenue.
Sarpanchs, gram panchayat’s members village sevaks, talati, etc. persons doing work of panchayat have to work sitting in panchayat house known as “Panchayat Ghar”. Moreover at village level only “Talati” is direct representative of Government. He should live in his head office only and he should get proper staying (residential) facility at that place only.
Panchayat Ghar-cum-Talati cum Mantri’s one units estimated cost is Rs.2.50 lakh (for earthquake are zone-4 and 5) and for other areas it is Rs.3.32 lakh. Besides this for Panchayat Ghar-cum-talati-cum-mantri awaas in limit of Rs.3.15 lakh Gram panchayat can take up construction work without tender.
In state at present there are 398 Gram Panchayats which do not have Panchayat Ghar. In current year any Gram Panchayat does not remain without Panchayat Ghar for that government is determined.
In year 2005-06 for construction of 230 Panchayat Ghar-cum-Talati-cum-mantri Aawaas construction total Rs.584.00 lakh were arranged basically against it to include all Gram panchayat Without Gram Panchayat Rs.1200.00 lakh was paid. In year 2005-06 in Dec.05 total expenditure done was Rs.247.84 lakhs. For year 2006-07 Gram panchayat and Talati cum mantra aawaas Rs.1000.00 lakh has been paid.
